You will need to know the IP address or routers IP address of your gaming console. If your using Windows, you can use the command prompt to ping the gaming console's IP address. If your using a router or ISP router, the console IP address is in your logs. The IP address of your gaming console can also be found in your firewall logs. If you're trying to stream your Xbox One to a PC, and the console doesn't show up in the Windows 10 Xbox app, then the only way to connect is to manually enter the correct IP address. There are also situations where voice chat or multiplayer will fail to work correctly on an Xbox One due to router security settings, in which case the only way.

Thankfully, Microsoft makes it easy to locate the IP address on your Xbox One.

Typically, you would need to find the IP address on your Xbox One for doing things like streaming on your PC. However, it's important to note that in Windows 10 you have to manually enter the IP address to connect your console to your computer.

No matter the circumstances, here is how you can locate your Xbox One's IP address, as well as set up a static IP address on your console.

1. Turn on your Xbox One console. Push the Xbox home button on your controller.

2. Then, select 'Settings.'

3. In 'Settings' select 'Network.' Then, select 'Network settings' and 'Advanced settings.'

4. In 'Advanced Settings' select 'IP Settings.' This will allow you to view your IP address.

How to set up a static IP address on your Xbox One using the console

If you have settings that rely on the IP address to stay the same (for example port forwarding), they will no longer work because the IP address has changed.

Please note, you only need to change your local IP. Your public IP can stay unchanged.

To set up a static IP address:
• Go the the Settings menu on your Xbox One.

• Under the General tab, select Network Settings, then Advanced settings.
• Take a note of the following information shown on-screen:
• IP address
• Gateway

• Enter your IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway, Primary DNS address and Secondary DNS address (in this order).
Please note, you will need to use the LB and RB buttons on your controller to make sure the digits are in the right boxes shown on-screen.
• Next, press B on your controller to go back to the Network Settings screen.
• Your Xbox One will now check your internet connection.
If the connection test fails, check you have entered all your details correctly, then try again.

Once the test confirms you are connected to the internet, your static IP address is set up.
